R&B singer Ray J, guest host on several BET music programs and known to many as Brandy's younger brother, has launched a tour to scout local high school talent.
The nationwide tour kicked off on April 4th in Birmingham, Alabama and will wrap up in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 28th. Spanning 24 days, Ray J will host Q&A sessions in the selected schools and view student talent forums comprised of two to four pre-selected students.
Ray J will not only be giving advice, but will select one fortunate students' music to be sent in to Knockout Entertainment and Sanctuary Records (Matthew Knowles' record company) for an executive listening.
Ray J himself got involved in the music industry at the age of 15, founding his own company Knockout Entertainment, therefore attributing to his desire to support young artists.
The nationwide high school tour is in support of Ray J's forthcoming Sanctuary Records release, Raydiation. The album features the lead singles "Quit Actin'" with R. Kelly and "Keep Sweatin'" with none other than Bronx bomber, Fat Joe.
In regards to his prior endeavors, Ray J said, "I really wasn't enjoying singing before, but now I'm in a zone where, whatever I experience, I can sing about it, and people can relate to it. I made a point to get in there and sing these songs and, I want people to feel me."
Various television and radio appearances will be made by Ray J in further support of the album. He is also currently featured on iTunes' R&B page, where "Quit Actin'" featuring R. Kelly is now available for download.
Raydiation is due to hit stores on June 28th.
