West Coast Customs' Q Steps Down From 'Pimp My Ride'; Plans To Open Shop In Midwest

With all the exposure and notoriety "Pimp My Ride" has given West Coast Customs (WCC), you would think that the shop members would be more than happy to work for another season. Well, that isn't the sentiments of shop manager Q, who has come to his last straw with the show that has shot the shop's popularity through the roof.
Q, who is the only original employee since WCC's launch in 1997, is fed up with MTV and is stepping down from head of the table for "Pimp My Ride's" next season.
"Compensation for the motherf---ers that is doing [the show] should be without saying, but you gotta fight for everything with [MTV]; it's ridiculous," Q told BallerStatus.com. "I stepped down; I'm not doing the show anymore."
Surprisingly, Q says that "Pimp My Ride" has taken its toll on WCC. And if it were up to him, the MTV cameras would be out of there.
"If it were up to me -- if I owned it -- I would've already stopped it," Q explained. "We got enough exposure; everybody already knows that we are the kings of this sh--. We don't need to keep running the shop down to get this."
According to the shop manager, MTV hasn't fairly compensated the shop for its work, which is one of the main reasons he is stepping down from his position. But the show isn't going no where, as shop owner Ryan is stepping up to the plate to replace Q on the wildly popular show.
"Ryan is gonna be at the end of the table now," Q revealed. "I wanna give the owner a little limelight. Nobody knows who the f--- he is. When we're out in public or venues, people run up and tell me that they love the show. It's kind of eating away at him."
On a brighter note, Q says that West Coast Customs has a future, and is preparing to expand the operations to the Midwest. The excited WCC O.G. revealed that he will be opening a sister company called Coast To Coast Customs in St. Louis, Missouri.
"It's pretty much planned out. All I have to do it acquire the building," Q revealed. "It's right there in the middle of the country where nobody is doing anything like that. I think it will do good."
Q's Coast To Coast Customs is scheduled to make its grand opening in July or August, while "Pimp My Ride" continues for another season with the shop owner Ryan filling in.
