You may remember Sean Price as one half of the duo Heltah Skeltah with his partner Rock, but for fans waiting for another album from the duo, they will have to wait a bit longer.
Don't fret, Sean Price is stepping out on his own, as he prepares to drop his solo debut, titled Monkey Barz, on Duck Down Records.
Sean Price released two impressive LPs with Heltah Skeltah in '96 and '98 -- their debut Nocturnal and the follow-up Magnum Force -- and plans to do the same on the solo tip.
His solo debut boasts production from two of hip-hop's rising stars in Ayatollah and Agallah, as well as 9th Wonder. Guest appearances include the Duck Down family's Boot Camp Click including Black Moon's Buckshot & 5FT, Smif N Wesson's Tek & Steele, O.G.C.'s Louieville Sluggah and Starang Wondah, Rustee Juxx, and Sean's Heltah Skeltah cohort Rock.
Sean's solo effort is only the first of many releases from Duck Down coming this summer. Others to follow include the highly-anticipated Buckshot/9th Wonder collaborative LP, Chemistry, which drops June 21, and Smif N Wesson's long-awaited return, Reloaded, coming in July.
Monkey Barz is slated to hit the streets May 31.
