Xzibit and Dr. Dre won a battle in court on Wednesday (March 23). Aspiring Philadelphia songwriter Michael Lowe alleged that the beat used in Xzibit's single "X" was created by him, and filed suit against X, Dre, and several record labels. A federal appeals court ruled that the copyright infringement lawsuit was frivolous, and Lowe is ordered to $35,000 in court and legal fees to Dr. Dre. ...
Three 6 Mafia are preparing to drop the sequel to their best-selling 2001 straight to DVD release "Choices," which moved over 100,000 copies to date. The follow-up, which is titled "Choices II: The Setup," is being released as a combo DVD/CD that will include the film and corresponding soundtrack. Artists featured on the soundtrack include Trillville, Lil Wyte, and artists from the group's Hypnotize Minds imprint. "Choices II: The Setup" is slated to drop on April 19. ...
On Monday (March 21), 2 Live Crew frontman Luther "Uncle Luke" Campbell threw a bachelor party in celebration of his walk down the aisle in Los Angeles. The party featured performances by Luke and appearances from various celebrities including Trick Daddy, Jacki-O and Petey Pablo.
