P. Diddy may be already involved with MTV via his series "Making The Band 3," but now the rapper/hip-hop mogul will have a lot more responsiblities at the company.
Diddy (real name: Sean Combs) has recently inked a production agreement with MTV to act as executive producer for upcoming TV projects. According to Reuters, he will be called upon for everything from developing and consulting to possibly appearing on shows.
"It's a big step, my first TV executive producer deal," said Combs. "It gives me a chance to create content but it also doesn't limit me to do things outside."
Diddy added that his new partnership with MTV differs from other business deals because it provides a significant commitment of funding to his company.
It's no surprise the two agreed to work together, since the two have been working together since 1994 through music videos, events and campaigns, including his "Vote or Die" registration drive during last year's presidential race.
With the success of his "Making The Band" series, MTV says that Diddy "has been an integral part of MTV's success through the years."
Aside from the new deal, Reuters reports that Diddy and MTV Films have also teamed up for motion picture development project, which is still untitled, but will be an urban heist movie.
