Kevin Liles, former executive at Def Jam Records, has recently joined Warner Music Group as executive vice president, reporting to Lyor Cohen, who he worked under at his former label. Liles is said to have left Def Jam after a falling out with new head L.A. Reid. He is also responsible for helping mold the careers of hip-hop heavyweights such as Jay-Z, Ja Rule, DMX and Ludacris. ...
The flamboyant member of Outkast, Andre 3000, has received some deserved recognition, but not for his rhymes -- this time for being so well dressed. Who would of thought that a guy who rocks dresses would be recognized for being the "world's best-dressed man." Esquire magazine has named the rapper just that, in their September issue. Andre was named along with Pharrell Williams, Chris Martin, Jude Law, Hugh Grant, Matt Lauer and Prince Charles. ...

Rick James, who was recently found dead in Los Angeles, did work on some music before his untimely death. Kool Keith had brought the legendary artist in the studio with him to record tracks for Keith's upcoming group album, The Business Is 7 Days, with partner H-Bomb under the name 7th Veil. ... That's not it, Rick James also collaborated with Seattle based rap group, Nocturnal Rage. The group worked with the late singer on their song titled "Miss Mary Jane: The Remix," where James sang live vocals on the hook and helped produce it.
