The Rock Steady Crew Find New Location For 27th Anniversary Event

After running into problems last week with permits for their annual anniversary event, legendary b-boy crew, the Rock Steady Crew, found a way to make it happen anyway.
Last week, New York city officials denied the crew's request for permits to hold their annual event at McCombs Dam Park in the Bronx (see "The Rock Steady Crew Denied Permits For Annual Event"). But, after being denied, they changed plans and switched locations for their event at Military Park, in Newark, New Jersey.
The Rock Steady Crew's 27th anniversary will be four day event of festivities, taking place from July 22nd-25th. Events will include a free concert, celebrity basketball game, a special Rock Steady Crew performance and, most notably, the invitation-only B-boy/Girl Battle, which crowns the best breakdancers in the world.
The celebration has become a staple in hip-hop history, drawing crowds of over 20,000. This year, many artists will be participating including Tony Touch, Erick Sermon, Black Moon, The Beatnuts, Masta Ace, Wordsworth & Punchline, DJ Red Alert, Pumpkinhead, Casual, Domino and Black Sheep, among others.

Thursday, July 22nd Benefit Basketball Game 11am-3pm @ The Cage (Corner of 4th St & 6th Ave in The West Village - Take the train to 4th) "Against The Grain" Battle $500 Prize. Open invitation for Against The Grain!!! All contestants must sign up by 11:30. Admission: FREE
