Mopreme Shakur, step-brother of the late Tupac Shakur and one of the original members of Thug Life, has recently inked a deal with independent record label, Mob Life Records.

The rapper is beginning work on his next solo album, which is yet-to-be-titled.

Being in the game for years, Mob Life CEO, Elijah, felt Mopreme would be an "excellent addition" to their roster.

"I thought that Mopreme would be a good addition to the label because he is a talented rapper. It's that simple," Elijah told BallerStatus.com. "I think he is one of the most underrated rappers out there. I'm not gonna say much else though, just gonna let the music speak for itself."

Mopreme is already in the studio working on the new album -- already four tracks in. Although there is no title yet, it is expected to drop early next year. Elijah says they are in no rush and want to make sure it's prefect.

"We're going to take our time with it though and make sure it is perfect before we put it out," explained Elijah.

Other than Mopreme's new record, Mob Life Records recently released a 2-disc, 30 track mixtape, titled On The Grind, which features guest appearances by Shade Shiest, Tray Deee, M.O.P., Petey Pablo, Cormega, The Game and Tha Outlawz, among others.
