Bad Boy Records is planning to re-release Notorious B.I.G.'s classic album Ready To Die, as a digitally re-mastered gift to the late rapper's fans.
The re-mastered version is the same album with slight differences. One identifiable change is its sound will be crisper and clearer, in addition to two bonus tracks, "Dreams" and "Who Shot Ya?," which were previously unreleased until now.
The original version of Ready To Die has sold over 4 million units to date and is considered a "must have" in any hip-hop heads' collection. In addition to the bonus tracks, the set will include a DVD with many of B.I.G.'s music videos including "Warning" (Cinematic Extended Version), "Big Poppa," "Juicy," "One More Chance" and a live performance of "Unbelievable."
After jumping to stardom with Ready To Die, Biggie's life was cut short after he was gunned down in Los Angeles on March 9, 1997 at the age of 25. Three weeks later, his sophomore album Life After Death was released and went on to sell over 10 million copies.
All together, the Notorious B.I.G. has sold in excess of 20 million CDs worldwide and is remembered today as one of the best to ever touch a mic.
Ready To Die (Re-Mastered) is slated for release July 13.
