With hip-hop magazines losing their appeal and credibility as of late, it's like a breath of fresh air to see one like New York-based upstart The Ave.

With a fresh and unique outlook on the culture, the magazine is helping spread the word to a generation fascinated with bling, cars and girls.

In their latest issue, the magazine will be highlighting not only hip-hop music, but also the politics behind this year's presidential election.

The Summer 2004 issue has hit newsstands and has two alternative covers; one will feature Talib Kewli with Reverend Al Sharpton, where they break down voter apathy and why we should or shouldn’t go to the polls this year; the second cover features Fat Joe and his Terror Squad, who discuss the loss of Big Pun, reaching out to the community and much more.

The Ave Magazine is much more than just a hip-hop mag, they cover social as well as political issues affecting the community, making them something to watch for in 2004.

Copies can be found at newsstands, Tower Records, Virgin Stores and Barnes & Nobles across the country.
