The rumor mill has been buzzing about Tupac protégés, The Outlawz, as of late. Word has it, the group has inked a major label deal with Baby's Cash Money Records.
Although media outlets have disregarded the news as rumor, the group's official website is reporting differently, stating they have indeed signed with the label.
"We did sign to Cash Money," Outlaw member, Kastro said via their website.
For years, The Outlawz has released their music independently, and has appeared on various Tupac albums, as well as guest appearances on other artists' albums. Now, with the new deal in place, the group will finally get the major backing they feel they deserve.
Originally there was six members (Kastro, E.D.I, Young Noble, Yaki Kadafi, Hussein Fatal, Napolean), with the death of Yaka Kadafi shortly after Pac's death and members Fatal and Napolean later leaving to pursue solo careers, the group is down to three members -- E.D.I., Young Noble & Kastro.
With the rumor of the signing leaking early, many fans have spoken out, saying it wouldn't be a good fit for the trio, but group member Kastro ensures that the group will remain the same and won't change up their style.
"No need for alarm," said Kastro. "Ain't nothin' [gonna] change."
The group is now working on their Cash Money release, tentively titled Ghetto Gospel, but there was no release date at press time.
