Usher Breaks Numerous Records with Fifth Album, Confessions

Fueled by his smash single "Yeah" featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris, Usher's fifth album, Confessions, will top next week's Billboard albums chart, selling nearly 1.1 million copies in its first week.
The album will be the highest first-week sales of any album released this year thus far.
In addition, Usher also broke a record for the highest first week sales for any R&B artist in Soundscan history, breaking previous record holder R. Kelly, with 543,000 sold of TP-2.com in 2000.
Continuing with the recordbreaking, Usher also breaks his record label's record for first week sales, which was previously held by the Notorious B.I.G.'s posthumously released Life After Death album in 1997, which sold more than 689,000 copies.
This is the singer's highest selling first week of his career topping his previous four releases' first-week sales combined.
