R. Kelly has been just going through a lot for the past year, but it doesn't seem to effect him. His music is still selling and he's also moving about like nothing's going on.
Well, he has some good news coming from his legal front. According to E! Online, several charges have been dropped against the R&B star in his child pornography case.
Seven of the 21 child-pornography charges he was facing have been dropped. The charges dropped include allegations of soliciting a minor to participate in child porn, a spokesperson for the Cook County State Attorney's office said.
Edward Genson, Kelly's lawyer, motioned for these charges to be dropped in December, stating that the statute allegedly violated by Kelly was enacted after the tape was made.
He still remains charged with 14 counts of child pornography and 12 separate counts of child pornography in Florida. Kelly has pleaded innocent to all charges.
Even with all this against him, Kelly work ethic hasn't been affected by the negativity. A new project with Baby "Birdman" Williams is in the works, titled Best of Both Worlds II, a sequel to the album Kelly and Jay-Z released two years ago.
Kelly has been granted permission to attend the 2004 Soul Train Awards in Los Angeles on March 20, where he is nominated for Best Male R&B/Soul Album and Album of the Year for Chocolate Factory.
