Loon and two of his associates were arrested on Saturday (February 13) on attempted murder charges when a fight broke out at the House Of Blues night club in Los Angeles, during the NBA All-Star Weekend.
But, according to MTV, the charges have been lessened, and the three men are now officially charged with assault. Loon (real name: Chauncey Hawkins) was charged with with one count of assault with a deadly weapon included by two special allegation counts, one for use of a deadly weapon and one for use of a deadly weapon with intent to cause great bodily injury.
The rapper's William Reyes and Teon Tanqueray were also hit with duplicate charges, stemming from a stabbing that occured during the early hours of Saturday morning at HOB's on the Sunset Strip.
According to reports, a security guard was stabbed, when Loon and the two men tried to gain access to the stage where Lil' Jon & the East Side Boyz were performing, not because they were denied entrance to the club as earlier reported.
Several people tried to rush the stage, while workers and secutiry guards handled crowd control, which allegedly sparked the stabbing.
Loon has pleaded not guilty to the charges and is scheduled to appear in a Beverly Hills Superior Court on April 15th.
