The Fire: 50 vs. Kanye, 50 & Jim Jones, LUDA sons T.I.

Fri-day! You know what time it is. Excuse my tardiness... this is the one and only Late Friday Night Fire, ya dig? It's your boy W-W-W-Dot (Who else but me?) and we're going in. Let's get 'em!

Maan, we're only a couple days away from hip-hop's big day. That's right, 50 Cent versus Kanye West is right around the corner on Tuesday (September 11). Or should I say 50 AND Kanye is right around the corner on Tuesday? We all know that's what it is. 50 and Kanye got together on this EARLY and ya can't be mad. They turned this into a hip-hop event. It's a Tuesday everyone is looking forward to. I still stick to my guns here. Kanye's Graduation is his worst album ever, but a dope album in its own right and yes, better than 50's. Coming from Queens, it's hard to actually say that, but it is what it is. Curtis is not a bad album. It's not mediocre either. It's good. Just that Graduation is better top to bottom. If 50 left "Amusement Park" and "Straight To The Bank" off the album, Curtis may be better. For some reason I still think 50 will sell more. I think he withdrew a couple mil and put it in Banks name to go out and cop as many Curtis albums as possible. But the race should be fun. Each cat gotta move 650,000-plus units or else hip-hop is in more trouble than we thought it is.

On a side note, did you know, while everyone's expecting 50 and Kanye to run Billboard, neither of them may come out the big winner? What, you ask? Well, if a country singer by the name of Kenny Chesney has his way, he'll be SoundScan's king come 9-11. People living in big cities like NYC, Miami, LA, Chi-town, Detroit, etc. often forget that a majority of America is COUNTRY, meaning people can give two shits about Curtis Jackson and KAYNE WEST. Don't be surprised if this media machine that is Kanye vs. 50 falls on deaf ears and Kenny Chesney wins. Kenny Chesney will be laughing straight to the bank, bitches... with his dog, wife, ex-wife, pickup truck and color television. I know, I know...how stereotypical of me.

But I'm saying... it's just a warning.

Also dropping on 9-11 is Diddy's boy group. No not the cats that just won "Making Of The Band 400." I'm talking about B5. See this is why Diddy's a dirty dog and Bad Boy (not Koch) is the real artists' graveyard. Why the fuck would you bury an album release under 50, Kanye and fucking KENNY CHESNEY!? Makes no good sense. After 9-11 B5 is going to signify Filing for (B)ankruptcy in (B)ad (B)oys' (B)asement, (B)itches!! Horrible.

Also dropping an album on 9-11 is Ty Nitty? Who, you ask? He's part of a group called the Infamous Mobb from Queensbridge. A real gully hood cat with tons of hood stories. Trust, I know. He and his comrades was one of the first interviews I ever conducted. This is when I was in high school or starting college. How about thaaat?

Let's move on to some MORE FIRE, MORE FIRE, MORE FIIIIYAAAH!

I'm so happy Nas responded to Bill O' Racist's comments. Unless you been keeping company with Bin Laden in cave, you know that O'Reilly reprimanded Virginia Tech for clearing the way for Nas to perform at their benefit concert. Well, after weeks, Nas (who Reilly pronounced like little homie Naaas) finally fired back, telling MTV: "The people he represents are Republican, older, a generation that has nothing to do with the reality of what's happening now with my generation. ... He's not really on my radar. People like him are supposed to be taught and people like me are supposed to let n—as like him know. I don't take him serious. His shit is all about getting ratings or whatever. I wouldn't honor anything Bill O'Reilly has to say. It just shows you what bloodsuckers do: They abuse something like the Virginia Tech [tragedy] for show ratings. You can't talk to a person like that."

RIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES! O'Reilly is an asshole. Furthermore, real talk, he represents the most biased news network. He shouldn't have the voice he does in the media. Can I get a "FUCK O'REILLY" one time!?

Maan, 50 does anything to get promotion. He's said to be interviewing Jim Jones on "Rap City" the day after his album drops and here he is with Soulja Boy, the kid behind that Superman record, which all the kids do the dance to:

Here 'Fif tell Soulja Boy the danger of losing an eyebrow and still having to do promotion.

With all the madness 50 is attached to, I'm glad Ludacris finally came clean that his verse on the "I Get Money" track (which he jumped on and destroyed) is aimed at T.I. Luda closes his verse on the song saying, "Ain't no need for apologies / Sorry iiis as sorry does / Follow me cuz!" Obviously we knew that line was aimed at Tip, but Luda admitted it was for the King of the South on BET's "106 & Park." The wack thing about it is he didn't say T.I.'s name. Instead he said: "When I wrote the verse there was an individual that said something about me not winning a Grammy, basically them winning a Grammy and feeling like I didn't deserve it."

For those that don't know T.I. doled out a line on, "You Know What It Is," saying, "Had the album of the year / Grammy or not." Obviously, more subliminal punches are on the way, till someone delivers the Knockout punch. If these cats do lyrically go at it, Luda is going to slay Clifford. Right now, though T.I. is more relevant than Luda. But you tell me... if T.I. and Luda would lyrically battle, who would win?

Aight, the ink is running dry, but before I go, with all the media hype (and I'm guilty of it too), please don't forget where you were six years ago on 9-11. Aight, I've said my little piece. Till next time, PEACE!
