Ballerstatus!! What's good? I'm back for Vol. 3 of the Trials & Tribulations of AC. I been getting a lot of good feedback from everybody and I really appreciate the support. I always wanted an outlet where I can speak to my people all at once.
It's crazy, now if someone wants to know how I'm feeling, I can just send them a link to one of the biggest hip-hop websites.
I got a big two weeks ahead of me: my new mixtape is dropped Memorial Day weekend, and my release party is June 7th. The new mixtape is called This Is AC, Part 2: Staten Lives and is hosted by DJ Big Mike, DJ Smallz, DJ Mick Boogie, and DJ Skee. I worked real hard on this release, and I made sure only my strongest joints made the cut. I tried to bring back that feeling I got when I first heard 36 Chambers, Capital Punishment, Reasonable Doubt, Ready To Die, and Illmatic, etc. I really tried to make records I personally would want to hear if I picked up newcomers mixtape. I don't hold any songs back, 'cause at this point, what do I have to lose? Every time you pick up a CD of mine, just know you are getting my best work as well as my blood sweat and tears. The mixtape/album includes production from yours truly, Hi-Tek, Kwame, Phoenix (Beast music), Hasan Insane (Pink album, Perfect Strangers), John Shotti (A Prince In Harlem), Joey T. (Basshedz), Stereotype, Rain, and Black Friday (look out for this kid, he is a problem). The features include Skyzoo, Naledge (of Kidz In The Hall) and Jessie Boykins III.
The shipment of covers and CDs just came in and let me just say, I will be here all night with the team putting these things together. Good thing I have very supportive friends and family to cut the work in half. We are starting with a very promising 5,000 units, and I expect to sell much more than that (with BALLERSTATUS' HELP of course). On some real shit, I have great respect for artists' that go gold, 500,000 is A LOT of fucking CDs!! I really don't know how nowadays going gold is considered a failure. Granted, it may not cover the financial aspect of the project, but it shows a great deal of fan support and popularity. With all the mixtapes we've done over the years, you think we would be used to the work. It's just different when it is your own album. Every time you put one together, you realize you packaging someone's opinion, every unit is going to have its own judgment day.
Grinding like crazy...
June 7 -- The party is going to be bananas! It will be held at one of New York's new most popular spots, Runway Lounge. Thugs make ya momma proud that night, dress fresh.
