Hate It Or Love It: Benzino Or 50 Cent Swagger Jacking? MC Serch Allows Pete Nice Imposter?

Words by Paulie Soprano
Ok, this is my first blog entry here at BallerStatus.com, so I'd just like to introduce myself. I'm Paulie Soprano, but you can call me Get Money. I'm here to bring ya'll the latest industry rumors and gossip people don't want out there, so all you motherfuckers trying to hide something, you better run and hide because I'm gonna air it all out. Also, I'll blog about whatever the hell I feel is interesting in hip-hop currently.
Alright, now that we have that out of the way, I'll be posting things several times a week I've heard, witnessed or been told by close sources (or moles I have planted within hip-hop camps). Any new moles who'd like to holla, hit me at industrysnitch@gmail.com.
Yea, clever email address huh? Well, all ya'll on that no snitching movement, fuck you. Sue me.
Ok, so this is what I have for you today.
I got word from one of these camps that their album cover concept was jacked. While this isn't all that serious, it is quite funny, since these two were embroiled in a serious beef a few years back. Anyhow, either Benzino or 50 Cent have swagger jacked one another. Take a look at these covers in comparison. You have the cover of 50 Cent's highly anticipated (laughs) third album, Curtis and you have Benzino's forthcoming Antidote album. Aside from the name and the background colors, the cover art of these albums are exactly the same. Coincidence? Or is someone swagger jacking the other?
Bezino's Antidote cover and 50's Curtis cover
That was kinda lame, so let's move on.
Next up is Third Base. Ya'll have to remember them, especially since member MC Serch has some new popularity thanks to hosting egoTrip's "The (White) Rapper Show."
Recently, MC Serch held a party at Southpaw in Brooklyn to celebrate his 40th year on the planet (40th b-day for the slow people). Anyway, I hear it was a happening party. A lot vets were in the house including rapper Dana Dane, veteran photographer Bill Adler, Bobbito Garcia and DJ Eclipse of Non Phixion, in addition to "White Rapper" contestants Persia and Misfit (you're fine as hell Misfit, holla).
It was so big, Serch even got his once-estranged ex-partner Prime Minister Pete Nice to appear, reuniting the duo once again. It seemed like a happy moment, right? But wait? What I'm hearing is that the guy who claimed to be Pete Nice was actually an imposter, which has pissed off several Third Bass fans, who have expressed their anger on a group fansite called ThirdBass.net.
The fake Pete Nice was in attendance and according to people who attended the party, he did not perform and coincidently barely spoke. A few photos were snapped of the alleged imposter and as you can see below, it's not hard to mistake this guy for Pete Nice. But if you look closely, the imposter has blue eyes and the real Pete Nice has brown. And don't say he has colored contacts in because how many straight guys do you know where colored contacts?
Pete Nice and Pete Nice look-a-like
What's pissing off the fans is that Serch somehow allowed this to happen -- either by hiring him or just going along with it. Damn Serch, it's like that?
Ok, so that's my little airing out session for today. So stay up and I'll catch ya'll again soon.
I leave you with an entertaining music video by a Latin rapper by the name of Down. A BallerStatus.com editor based in Cali and will remain nameless (you'll understand why when you see it), said he loves this shit... Why? Who the fuck knows. But if all you Southern rappers can come up with a hot single about doing a dance, why can't the Los Angeles esses too?
