Bria Myles is unique. While the ever-so-curvy California native sports an incredible body, she claims her eyes draw men in the most. Being compared to a Japanese Anime is what the "ever-so-unfortunate" Lakers fan claims compliment her the best (sorry Bria -- shouts to the Celtics!). With numerous video appearances under her belt for the likes of Kanye West, Twista, R. Kelly, and her most recent in Yung Berg, Myles at the age of 24, has already conquered the video world.
With the music video scene on wraps, Myles next stop is in what men love the most ... video games! Luckily for the cutie-with-a-booty, she was contacted, out of the blue, to have a role in the new 2K Sports videogame, "Don King Presents: Prizefighter." According to Myles the game (which features Bria as a temptress to opposing boxers) is a major stepping-stone in her career. Luckily enough Ballerstatus.com and Bria were able to manage the east to west coast time difference and sit down to discuss her thoughts on dating in the industry, her issues with ass injections and why she is single but ready for a boyfriend ... guys, pay attention!
BallerStatus.com: So what's going on with Bria Myles?
Bria: Well I just did a videogame called "Don King Presents: Prizefighter." They made a virtual me, and they named her Bria Myles, so that's been my number one priority. I also just did a video for Yung Berg that recently premiered on BET. I also did a Foxhole radio interview on Sirius radio with Jamie Foxx, and I also did the Wendy Williams show as well.
BallerStatus.com: That's a big plate.
Bria: Just trying to stay busy.
BallerStatus.com: How did this video game come about?
Bria: I have no clue. It was really crazy. They contacted me through my website. I was shocked because it's a really commercial project. I was very excited. I went in for the audition and it went from there.
BallerStatus.com: So what do you do in the game?
Bria: I basically tempt a guy. I'm paired up with a boxer and I tempt him to go out with me and if he does go out with me, then he gets all the publicity, and he gets bigger and better fights and special things in the game.
BallerStatus.com: Just like real life with Bria Myles right?
Bria: (laughter) I mean ... I'm pretty hot ya know.
BallerStatus.com: So how did you first get into modeling?
Bria: My friend thought I would be perfect for modeling, so he introduced me to one of his friends and she loved me. She immediately booked me for a video. She actually booked me for a couple different things. She booked me to be a backup dancer for the Ying Yang Twins on the "Carson Daily Show." Then she booked me for the Kanye West video "Brand New," and then Twista's and Trey Songz video, "Girl Tonight." And then from there, everything took off.
BallerStatus.com: How have your experiences been working on videos?
Bria: Everyone has been pretty cool and pretty professional. Videos can be very strenuous. They are so long. The last video I was in I had to stay from 11 a.m. till about 1 a.m. It's hard ... it pretty much takes up your whole day and some of your next day because when you eventually get home, you're exhausted, so you pretty much sleep through some of the next day.
BallerStatus.com: It is a mostly male dominated industry, so how has it been for you being a beautiful woman?
Bria: Some men will play around and make little comments here and there, but otherwise it's been pretty good. It's tough because when you work with a lot of women, it's either they're really nice or they're really catty. They may not like you because you're pretty or because you're their competition. Working with men can be somewhat unprofessional too because men are so driven by how beautiful a women is or how big her ass is. That can cause them to be unprofessional. I have had that happen on occasions, but for the most part the industry has been pretty good to me.
BallerStatus.com: Now-a-days a dark skinned model is harder to come by, so how has being of a darker complexion affected you?
Bria: Being dark skinned only helps if they're looking for a dark skinned girl. If a director has to use a dark skinned girl in their video, then it helps. But that's really the only time it truly benefits us. If you're just walking into a casting as a dark skinned girl, then you really have to "wow" the people in the casting because there's so many light skinned pretty girls to choose from. So why would they go with a dark skinned girl when they can have the light skinned girl with the pretty hair and the pretty eyes?
BallerStatus.com: So is being dark skinned out of style?
Bria: I don't know. I hate that whole thing. It irks and irritates me. I could care less about a person's skin color. In terms of guys, I like whatever guy treats me right. I had a guy tell me a couple weeks ago that he's never dated a dark skinned girl. So I asked him if I would have been bold and walked up to him and said "Hey what's up," what he would do. He said he would have gave a "Hey" and then kept it moving because I was dark skinned. He said the only reason he even pursued me further was because we had hung around all day and we got to know each other and he thought I was a cool person. But a lot of people won't even give a dark skinned girl a chance.
BallerStatus.com: Since were on the topic of guys, how do you feel about dating inside of the industry?
Bria: I think a lot of people feel strongly that it is not the right thing to do or that it's not possible. I feel different because I am confident with who I am. I am inside the industry, so I know what it's like. I'd rather be with someone who can relate to me, who can hear the rumors that I hear like "Oh Bria's dating 50 Cent" and we can both look back and know that it's not true. If you're both in the industry, then you can both understand where one another is coming from. People who are not in the industry tend to get jealous. However, I like dating regular guys though. I like dating a guy who has an everyday life and has a 9-5 job because I feel like they appreciate me more. I feel like with the guys in the industry, I never get a chance to connect with them whether it's because they are traveling or on the road. They're just not consistent.
BallerStatus.com: So for all those guys out there wondering ... what does being consistent mean?
Bria: I mean if you call me all the time in the beginning, don't do that just to get me. Don't just call me all the time to try and get me. If your M.O. is "I call you every once in a while," then that's just what it is and if I still like you, then you don't have to call me everyday. I just like consistency, don't do something just to get me and then once you got me everything switches up.
BallerStatus.com: By the looks you're a very curvy woman ... so what do you get complimented on the most?
Bria: Well actually I get complemented a lot on my eyes. Back when I was younger, I used to think why are people complimenting me on my eyes. But for some reason people really like the shape of my eyes, they say I look like a Japanese Anime. I also get complimented on my lips too.
BallerStatus.com: Interesting ... now-a-days a lot of women would kill to have a "Bria Myles" figure. Some women actually will spend money to get it. How do you feel about the whole topic of "injections" to the derriere?
Bria: My whole outlook on that is ... do whatever pleases you. If you want to alter your body to look beautiful, that's your issue ... I mean it's not an issue, but it's something that you want to do. But if it gets a little too obvious or too unreal, then I think you've gone too far. It's like if a woman went from A cups to triple F's. I mean if people look at you and stare at you like "What the f***" then that's a bit much. I mean whatever you want to do you should do, but the industry now-a-days is fraudulent. They don't appreciate women who are naturally born like this or are built like this. I feel like most of the women who buy all this sh** would have never been as far along in the industry if they were all natural.
BallerStatus.com: So let's get a little personal ... are you in a relationship right now?
Bria: No.
BallerStatus.com: Why not?
Bria: Because guys are not consistent! I mean I have some guy friends that I'll talk to, but I don't have any guys who I am seriously dating, or digging like as in a relationship sense.
BallerStatus.com: Do you find it hard doing the modeling thing and dating? Do guys get jealous?
Bria: Not quite. It's just kind of like I can't find the right guy. Honestly I'm almost kind of ready for a relationship. I haven't been in one for almost two years now. I'm 24 and I would like to have children by 27. I want to build a relationship now, get married and have kids by 27. But I just go with the flow, so if God wants me to meet someone then he'll put him in my life.
BallerStatus.com: What kind of men do you look for?
Bria: I don't look for men, I just of go with the flow. If I bump into a guy and I like the way he looks and he's cool, then that's just what will happen. If you really go back and look at the guys I've dated, you'll see I really don't have a specific type. I've dated a lot of different types of guys. I've dated outside of my race, I've dated dark skinned, I've dated light skinned, I've dated mix guys. It's really all about how the guy approaches me and what his swagger's like.
BallerStatus.com: Swagger huh ... so what can a guy do to turn you on and on the other hand turn you off?
Bria: I like guys who wear nice smelling cologne. I love when a guy smells good. I really hate a guy with jacked up teeth though. There's just too much insurance, too much dental stuff, or braces or even if you have to just make a monthly payment. Teeth are really important. I love guys with nice teeth.
BallerStatus.com: So what's the most interesting or unique way a guy has tried to pick you up?
Bria: Honestly there hasn't been one. Guys have tried to pick me up in so many ways and none of them really stood out. None of them were unique.
BallerStatus.com: Damn ... that kinda sucks.
Bria: Yeah.
BallerStatus.com: So what does "Bria Myles" have coming up in the future?
Bria: Well I have something big coming up, but I can't really talk about it. I have a television show coming up. It's going to be on cable TV. It's on one of people's favorite networks. It will be something that the urban community will watch. But I can't really give any more details about it.
BallerStatus.com: And are you working on anything else right now?
Bria: Not really. I actually may be having a couple calendar's in the works. I'm planning on coming out with a calendar next year for myself. It will be more of a poster calendar. It's not going to be 12 different months, it's just going to be one big poster. Because I want people in jail to be able to have it and in some calendars they have things that people in jail can't have.
BallerStatus.com: Showing the people in jail some love ... ok!
Bria: Yeah I want to do something for my people in my jail. They need love too. It will also be more cost efficient and wont cost as much as most calendars.
BallerStatus.com: Is there something that people may not know about you?
Bria: I mean not really. I like the Lakers.
BallerStatus.com: Well I'm from Boston and we all know how that story ended.
