To commemorate its 55th anniversary, Playboy magazine has launched a multi-city tour in search of a 55th Anniversary Playmate.
They are in search of a fresh-faced girl who will appear in the magazine's January 2009 issue and receive a $55,000 modeling contract (with their issue on newsstands December 2008).
Junior Photo Editor and "The Girls Next Door" star Holly Madison will oversee the nationwide search, which kicked off on Wednesday (January 16) at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles.
"I am thrilled to be part of Playboy's search for its 55th Anniversary Playmate," said Holly. "We're looking for someone who is sexy, sophisticated, and the all-American girl next door."
During the tour, Playboy photographers will travel across the U.S., interviewing candidates during stops in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Atlanta, and New York City, among other stops.
Interested candidates are urged to call the 55th Anniversary Playmate Hotline at 1-877-777-1953 to arrange an interview. And also submit a recent full-figure photo in a two-piece swimsuit and a head-and-shoulders portrait to the magazine at 55thplaymatesearch@playboy.com.
