When the iPod Touch madness began, the entire commercial world -- expect for Apple that is -- identified a gap in the market for accessories. Right now it's raining headphones, travel sets, FM transmitters and cases for the latest iPod design. Everything is possible in the domain of cases. From standard to personalized, from plastic Walmart protection to cotton knitted socks and exclusive $300 Vuitton designs. The most unthinkable designs are available, but only few manage to answer the most important expectations when buying a case: style, comfort and protection. Ballerstatus selected two outstanding brands from the segment leather goods that meet all criteria; Beyza and Vaja.

Beyza

Beyza iPod Touch case

The iPod Touch cases are available in different colors and textures in 47 variants, subdivided into 4 series:

Slimline Series: a small, perfectly fitted case with an access point on the bottom to connect the iPod to the computer or charger. A compact design that can easily be put in a pocket or jacket, but could be damaged easily, since the top of the case is exposed.

Multi-flip Series: multiple openings in the leather provide access to all functions of the iPod Touch. This case has a removable belt clip system and flap, which is secured with a hidden magnet closure.

UniSR-MN Series: provides versatility in use. A strong leather belt clip allows the user to attach the case to a belt. The earphones port is accessible at all times, while the computer port is not.

SkinSR Series: the iPod Touch screen is unprotected in this case, which allows the user to instantly access the menu. Might be a pain when the iPod, since the screen can be damaged easily.
The only small negative aspect about the Beyza cases is the fact that the company logo is overexposed. While the logo is engraved on the front of the case, the company name is written on its back. A small logo would have been enough, since brand names hardly play a role in the decision making process of a case.

Beyzas cases are available online at BeyzaCases.com.

Vaja

Vaja i-volution iPod Touch case
Beyza takes a solid second place, but Vaja is by far the most stylish supplier for leather accessories. Vaja allows the customer to customize the iPod cases online -- which has a delivery term of 25 days. The colors, optional belt clip and text can be customized by the buyer. This extra service passes an increase on in higher prices. A case similar to Beyza can run up to a price almost twice as much, which makes Vaja one of the most expensive suppliers in this segment.

Vaja offers seven types of cases, including ones with a flap or unprotected screens. Two out of the seven designs have an optional colored stripe on them, which the customer can modify throughout the customization process. All Vaja cases have a small metal logo on the front.

The finish of each design is absolutely outstanding. The leather is well dyed in one tone and much softer than the ones offered by competitors. Vaja cases are made of full grain cowhide, which has a very long life expectancy and is much cleaner than other types of leather and has minimal scarring and insect bites. Both brands deliver their cases in solid, elegant boxes with the logos printed on them.
