Filmmaker Jamal Dedeaux and costume designer Rebecca Haze recently announced the launch of their new mens boxer briefs line, Safetyz, which they say will tuck your "package" away safely.
The new innovative, fully-functional boxer briefs come equipped with a hidden pocket, strategically placed near the crotch and include a zipper to insure that whatever is inside doesn't fall out.
The idea came about while preparing for a flight, says the creators. "There are some things you just don't want to put in your suitcases. Nor, do you want them in a carry on that could be stolen or searched by authorities at any moment. So, I figured a pocket in your underwear could come in pretty handy," says the Pasadena, CA native, Dedeaux. "Now women aren't the only ones with underwear that doubles as a place to hide your valuables. Safetyz are 100% comfortable cotton, and the pocket is huge. It's large enough to hold a 12 oz bottle of water... and condoms!"
Saying the underwear can be used for a variety of reasons, as their way of promotion, the company says the hidden pocket can be used by the teenager who wants to hide his money from the school bully, the skateboarder who's worried about money falling when he's in the air, the husband who's trying to hide his cigarettes from the wife he told he quit and the traveler who's carrying large amounts of cash or travelers checks.
One thing they say you can be sure of is the contents of the pocket will be out of sight, and be secure and safe.
They come in basic black and are offered in small, medium, large and extra larges sizes.
Currently they can be purchased at several stores in Southern, California -- including Dementia, Hip Hop West and Groove Riders. But if you are outside Southern Cali, they can be purchased online at Safetyz.com or Myspace.com/Safetyz.
