Nintendo continues to slaughter the competition, moving hundreds of thousands more Wii consoles then both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3.
So, with the Wii being in such high demand, the individuals looking to get one of the sought after gaming consoles will be disappointed this holiday season.
A year after the system's launch, finding a Wii is nearly impossible, and it is just about guaranteed that everyone who is planning on purchasing one as an Xmas gift will be disappointed.
"We're working very hard to make sure that consumers are satisfied this holiday, but I can't guarantee that we're going to meet demand," Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime, told the Mercury News in a recent interview. "As a matter of fact, I can tell you on the record that we won't."
According to Fils-Aime, they are not even sure how many units should be put into the marketplace.
"We have been sold out worldwide since we launched ... Every time we put more into the marketplace, we sell more, which says that we are not even close to understanding where the threshold is between supply and demand," claimed Fils-Aime.
