Actor Shemar Moore was hit with a DUI charge during the early morning hours of Friday (June 1) while driving in Los Angeles.
According to the Associated Press, the one-time "Soul Train" host was doing over 65 mph on Santa Monica Boulevard at around 1 a.m. when he was stopped by the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities say Moore showed "signs of alcohol impairment," which then prompted arresting officers to conduct a "DUI investigation."
He was arrested a half an hour later and taken into custody where he took a breathalyzer test and was booked for driving under the influence. The results of the test were unknown at press time.
He was later released on $5,000 bail and due back in court later this month.
Moore currently plays the character of Derek Morgan on the television series "Criminal Minds."
