There are few actresses that have commanded the attention and respect that Vivica A. Fox has garnered. She's more than likely been in a couple of your favorite films or shows, all coming from her tireless effort to show that you can get it if you reach for it. From "City of Angels" to "Booty Call," "Boat Trip" to "Soul Food," it's abundantly clear that she is multi-talented, as well as multi-faceted, as recently shown by her taking the producer's chair for the Lifetime Channel's hit series "Missing."

As of late, there's been a lot going on in her life, and she's the type that believes in that old adage, "If you don't grind, you don't shine." She is a bonafide hustler, one who knows what she wants and how to get it. Read on, as she sits down with Ballerstatus.com for an exclusive into her world, spanning from her views on the current state of movies and music, black starpower and other things you won't find anywhere else. Gather 'round and soak up some good game on a hustler's ambition.

Ballerstatus.com: What's really good, Vivica?

Vivica A. Fox: Life. My life has been blessed many times over and I am grateful for what has transpired up to now. I really am.

Ballerstatus.com: We know Vivica A. Fox for all of her blockbuster roles in the movies and television, but for those that don't know how you came about, tell us about how you began.

Vivica A. Fox: Well, as it happened was, I was having lunch on Sunset Boulevard, when I was discovered by Trevor Walton. He's the reason I'm here right now and I owe him so much. I wish there was more glamour to it, but that's how it happened -- at lunch [laughs].

Ballerstatus.com: I'm sure a lot of people know you for the "Kill Bill" films, but what were some of the earlier flicks that those not up on game might've missed out on?

Vivica A. Fox: I was in "Ella Enchanted" with the very talented Anne Hathaway, "Two Can Play That Game," a comedy with Morris Chestnut, and "Independence Day."

Ballerstatus.com: Tell us about this new series that you're not only starring in, but producing for the Lifetime Channel.

Vivica A. Fox: The show is called "Missing," where I play FBI agent Nicole Scott, who's trying to track down missing people. It's a sci-fi series that is very engaging to the viewer. I encourage everyone to check it out.

Ballerstatus.com: No doubt. You're also involved in a remake of "Looney Tunes." Would you tell us a little about that?

Vivica A. Fox: Certainly. The name is "Loonatics," and it's really an updated version of like you said, "Looney Tunes," with a more hip appeal to it. My character's name is Black Velvet and she's a villainess on the show. She's the bad girl that you can't help but like.

Ballerstatus.com: What else have you got going on at the moment?

Vivica A. Fox: I'm currently involved with a campaign for Caddillac.

Ballerstatus.com: What do you think of all the black star power that's coming out of Tinseltown right now?

Vivica A. Fox: I think it's great to see black actors and actresses getting both the pay and the respect that's been due them for entirely too long. I believe that we have a story, an identity and a way about us that is both entertaining and marketable. I'm happy about that. Go Jaime!

Ballerstatus.com: What's one thing that most people don't know about you?

Vivica A. Fox: That I'm very spiritual. I bless the food every time I get ready to eat, regardless of where I'm at. I think that spirituality is an extremely important thing in our lives and I support spirituality in everything I do.

Ballerstatus.com: Finally, what advice would you give to those trying to break into the game?

Vivica A. Fox: Do your homework, believe in yourself and just as importantly, go to where the action is, because, it won't come to you. You absolutely have to be in either LA or New York for this business as that's where everything is. Don't expect the wheel to stop for you; you have to be going fast enough to jump on.
