After inking a six-figure, four book deal with St. Martins Press in 2005, urban author Relentless Aaron did so well, that he recently extended his contract, adding on ten additional titles -- the first, entitled Extramarital Affairs, scheduled to drop this September.
The New York native has impacted the book industry in a very unconventional way. With 30 novels written while in prison (including Push, Platinum Dolls, The Last Kingpin, and To Live and Die In Harlem), Relentless got ten of them published within the first 18 months of his release.
Over the last two year since being released from prison, the author has sold hundreds of thousands of books throughout New York, Chicago, New Orleans, California, Boston and beyond at promotional events and through his own unique syndication of vending tables. He has created such a street cult following that the New York Times made him the subject of a recent feature story.
"The streets know me and my characters, but with my new affiliation with St. Martins, I'm looking forward to greatly expanding my base," said Relentless of his new deal. "Extramarital Affairs, a story about a married couple addicted to sex and caught up in a murder, will reel the readers!"
In addition to his forthcoming book, Relentless also has his own publishing company, Relentless Content, where he released his nine-year-old daughter's book, ABCs For A Positive Me.
The rising urban author has been making big moves, and is also the only author to be sponsored by urbanwear clothing company, Southpole, who is also sponsoring his Readers Are Leaders Literary campaign that will visit schools year round.
