BallerStatus.com was founded in May of 2002, as a place online dedicated to hip-hop music, back when there were only a handful of sites dedicated to the urban culture. Since our initial launch, BallerStatus has grown to become one of the most recognized destinations dedicated to covering the urban lifestyle culture.

We've expanded beyond our humble beginnings of covering strictly hip-hop music, to covering R&B, entertainment, fashion, gaming, electronics, and more. We aim to provide up-to-the-minute news in the entire genre.

BallerStatus.com was created, founded, and is currently operated by Jay Casteel, while the majority of the editing duties are handled by our editors Anne van de Sande and Allen Starbury. Several other writers contribute with regional reporting and editorials.
