Following Aaron Hernandez's suicide last month, his fiancee Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez speaks for the first time... in an interview on Dr. Phil.

During the exclusive, she revealed that she doesn't believe he took his own life, echoing claims his former agent and lawyer said in statements hours after he died.

Shayanna had been with Hernandez since high school, and given how much they booth knew about him, she said she had serious doubts about the suicide story.

"It’s just not the Aaron that I know," she told Dr. Phil. "I think that if he would have done something like this, it would have been at his worst, and I felt like it was looking so bright. I don’t think it was a suicide."

Shayanna also detailed their final conversation, which would have taken place hours before he died, and says there was no obvious good bye and doesn't even recall them telling each other, "I Love You".

"It was a normal conversation, which makes me doubt so many things," she said. "I just know that the feedback I was getting from our last talk had nothing to do with any suicidal thoughts. But then again, I don’t know what that would be. But to me, it was completely normal."

Finally, she said he was in good spirits after being acquitted of double murder charges

"That would make me doubt that he took his own life," Shay said. "He was very positive, so excited to come home. I spoke to him the night before they say this incident happened, and he was so, 'Daddy’s going to be home,' and he’s speaking to [his 4-year-old daughter] Avielle, 'I can’t wait to sleep in the bed with you guys, and I can’t wait to just hold you and love you.' There was no indication at all of such events."
