Khabib Nurmagomedov Challenges Conor McGregor With Twitter DM

Khabib Nurmagomedov

After becoming the new lightweight champion at UFC 205, everyone wants to know who Conor McGregor will fight next. If he has it his way, it will be undefeated lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov.

This week, Nurmagomedov (24-0) took to social media to challenge Conor, posting a screenshot of a direct message he sent to McGregor over Twitter. In it, he challenges him to fight... and not "run like a chicken".

"If you run every time you look in the mirror you not going to respect yourself, your kids not going to respect you, your friends, your family won't respect you," Nurmagomedov wrote. The screenshot, however, didn't show whether or not McGregor responded.

McGregor (21-3) called Nurmagomedov a "consistent pull-out merchant" after defeating Eddie Alvarez earlier this month, while expressing concerns over his ability to stay healthy. Nurmagomedov missed all of 2015 due to various injuries.

At UFC 205, McGregor made history, when he became the first fighter to simultaneously hold two UFC titles at the same time. It's unclear when he'll have to vacate one of the titles.
