Mos Def Granted Passport to Leave South Africa
Mos Def (aka Yasiin Bey) is finally allowed to leave South Africa, after being denied earlier this year.
Back in January, he was arrested at the Cape Town International Airport for violating local immigration laws, when he attempted to use an unrecognized "world passport" while trying to leave the country.
According to TMZ, he apologized to the government and has since worked out his passport issues.
The report says Mos Def is scheduled to board a flight for the U.S. on Tuesday night (Nov. 22), after being granted a valid passport by the Department of Home Affairs and had charges dropped against him.
Despite the good news, TMZ says he's now on an "undesirable persons" list with the South African government. However, his attorney is planning to appeal that status.
