Ryan Bader KOs Rogerio Nogueira at UFC Fight Night
UFC veteran Ryan Bader knocked out Rogerio Nogueira at UFC Fight Night on Saturday night (Nov. 19) in Brazil, the final fight of his UFC contract.
Bader (22-5) easily took down Nogueira in the third round, and smothered him with some vicious ground and pound until referee Mario Yamasaki stepped in at the 3:51 mark... in the headlining fight at UFC Fight Night at Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
After the fight, the 33-year-old said he will enter free agency, after winning seven of his past eight fights.
"I'll get with the UFC, have talks with them, re-up," Bader said regarding his future. "I don't see anybody else up there [in the lightweight division]. The top 5 is wide open. I deserve that title shot, and that's what I'm coming for."
Outside of a clean left hand in the opening round that appeared to stun Bader a bit, Nogueria (22-8) was completely dominated by the younger fighter.
Nogueira, 40, is 1-3 in his past four fights, suffering losses to Maurício Rua and Anthony Johnson. He's also made just four appearances in the past three years.
