New Balance Seeing Both Backlash & Praise For Pro-Trump Comments
Following New Balance's endorsement of President Elect Donald Trump, mainly over his views on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, social media is being littered with both hate and support for the brand.
As previously reported, New Balance's VP of Public Affairs said this in support of: "The Obama admin turned a deaf ear to us & frankly w/ Pres-Elect Trump we feel things are going to move in the right direction."
Following news of this endorsement, white supremacist site The Daily Stormer published an article calling New Balance the "official shoes of white people" and the "official brand of the Trump Revolution."
In response, fans of the brand, as well as sneakerheads, have expressed their displeasure with the endorsement, taking to social media with videos and photos of New Balance sneakers being destroyed. Some are being thrown in the trash can, while others are being burned.

On the other side, Trump supporters are taking to social media, expressing their support of New Balance... further showcasing the deep divide within the country.
#BoycottGrubHub and buy New Balance. We're in a Culture War. Leftists do NOT relent. Resist them in every way. Seriously

"One of our officials was recently asked to comment on a trade policy that was taken out of context," the statement reads. "As a 110-year-old company with five factories in the U.S. and thousands of employees worldwide from all races, genders, cultures and sexual orientations, New Balance is a values-driven organization and culture that believes in humanity, intergrity, community and mutual respect for people around the world.
