Lin-Manuel Miranda Says Immortal Technique Bullied Him in High School
Actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, best known for the Broadway musicals Hamilton and In the Heights, made a shocking revelation recently: rapper Immortal Technique bullied him in high school.
During an interview on Marc Maron's WTF podcast, Miranda opened up about his experiences with the politically outspoken rapper.
"He was our school bully," he said. "He terrorized kids, he threw them in the garbage. I got thrown in the garbage by him."
Despite being a bully, Miranda says Immortal Technique always showed an interest in the arts, and even landed a part in a school play. "He got a part Senior year and I was like, 'Oh my God, I'm in a f*cking play with the dude that scares the sh*t out of all my friends!'"
While some might hold a grudge, Miranda feels much different about the situation all these years later. "He's one of the most political, ideological [rappers]. He really made an incredible life for himself as a rapper [...] He was a really angry kid and it's been wonderful to watch him grow up and find a political outlet for that anger."
