Lil Wayne Not Connected to Black Lives Matter, But is “a Gangbanger”

Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne made some controversial comments on the Black Lives Matter on Tuesday (Nov. 1), during an interview on Nightline.

When asked about the movement, the rapper appeared confused, before becoming upset for even being asked about it at all.

"What is it? What do you mean?" Wayne asked. Once informed, he said that the fact he is "a young, black, rich motherf*cker" means he isn't connected to the movement. "If that don't let you know that America don't understand black lives matter these days, I don't know what does."

"Don't come at me with that dumb sh*t. My life matter," he added. "Especially to my bitches."

"I don't feel connected to a damn thing that ain't got nothing to do with me," Wayne said, when asked if he separates himself from it.

What does he feel connected to? The Bloods, to which he claimed allegiance to, right before walking out of the interview. "I'm connected to this motherf*cking flag right here," he exclaimed, pulling out a red bandanna. "I'm a gangbanger."

"I'm connected," he repeated, while standing up to leave.
