Anthony Davis Puts Up 50 Points in Pelicans Opener

New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis had a monster game in the team's opener against the Denver Nuggets this week, but they came up short, 107-102.

A.D. recorded an insane stat line, including 50 points, 16 rebounds, seven steals, five assists and four blocks. He did this on 17-34 from the field and 16-17 from the free throw line.

Despite the huge game for Davis, the team lost. The rest of the Pelicans' starting lineup -- Solomon Hill, Tim Frazier, E'Twaun Moore and Omer Asik -- combined to score just 29 points on 11-of-28 shooting.

Davis also became just the fourth player in NBA history to score 50 points in a season-opening game, joining Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor and Michael Jordan
