Antonio “Big Foot” Silva Released From the UFC
After a rough series of fights over the past three years, the UFC has released MMA legend, Antonio "Big Foot" Silva, reports MMA Fighting.
Although the Brazilian is 37, he's not done with the sport, as he's already fielding offers from other promotions, sources said.
Silva has fought in the UFC since 2012, making his debut against Cain Velasquez at UFC 146, though he lost via TKO. He would go on to earn victories over Travis Browne and Alistair Overeem, but then lost a series of notable fights, including a rematch against Velasquez, as well as to Frank Mir, Mark Hunt, and most recently, Roy Nelson.
Silva also defeated Fedor Emelianenko under the Strikeforce banner in 2011, so its likely, a rematch may come.
