Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had arthroscopic knee surgery on his left knee Monday morning (Oct. 17), but his return is currently unclear, reports ESPN.

Coach Mike Tomlin made the announcement, saying Big Ben underwent a "successful outpatient arthroscopic surgery" on his knee and is expected to "make a full recovery."

According to ESPN, citing an unnamed source, Ben suffered a torn meniscus.

Roethlisberger suffered the injury during Pittsburgh's 30-15 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday (Oct. 16), leaving with 8:18 left in the first half. He took place while running a bootleg away from Dolphins defensive end Mario Williams, who appeared to nick Roethlisberger's leg as the QB made his way out of the pocket.

Despite the injury, Roethlisberger played the entire second half.
