BMW Unveils Revamped 2017 5 Series

BMW has unveiled its all-new 5 Series sedan, which gets a brand new look and a number of upgrades.

First of all, the new 5 Series sheds 137 pounds, due to strengthened steel, aluminium and magnesium, while the car is both taller and wider than the previous models. Second, the sedan also boasts new engines, dubbed the BMW TwinPower Turbo, comprised of a line of four- and six-cylinder units that power the 530i and 540i respectively, while dual exhausts are added to all models.

The interior also sees some upgrades, via an improved iDrive 6.0 infotainment system, an optional 16-speaker 600 watt Harmon Kardon sound system.

A beefier 550i will be announced soon, while an M-Sport package upgrades the 5 Series even more.

Pricing is currently unavailable, but a release date is expected around Feb. 2017.
