Nicki Minaj

It's been a minute since Nicki Minaj dropped 2014's The Pinkprint, but she trolled fans hard on Saturday night (Oct. 8), with a fake album release that never came.

It began in the late afternoon, when the rapper tweeted out a title and release date for what she said was a new album -- Pick My Fruit Out was scheduled to drop at midnight on Saturday night.

"Ok u know what I wasn’t gonna say anything but damn ya got it out of me," Nicki tweeted. "The album drops at midnight. it’s called #PickMyFruitOut."

She would go on to reveal a tracklist, which carried names of various fruits, including the opener "Mango", followed by "Grapes", "Kiwi" and "Bananas (Harambe Interlude)".

It was nine tracks long, but she said her favorite was song #10. "The one I’m most excited about, however, is track #10," Nicki wrote. "It’s called 'N*gga toss my fruit salad' and it features my favorite rapper of all time."

Despite the news, which fans began going crazy for, it was all a joke... and Nicki had a good laugh and thanked her fans for playing along. "Love you sooooooo fkn much," she wrote. "I been cryin laughin this whole time, btw... Good stuff #PickMyFruitOut."

Nicki is currently working on her new album, though details are unknown.
