“American Horror Story” Renewed For Season 7

American Horror Story

Although Season 6 just began last month, FX has ordered up a Season 7 of its popular series, American Horror Story.

The horror anthology series will return in 2017, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The news comes just three episodes into the sixth season of American Horror Story, which premiered to 5.6 million in the 18-49 age demo and 11 million total viewers. The season six premiere is currently the third-most-watched episode in the show's history.

The buzz for Season 6 came from the lack of details released before the premiere. Instead, FX opted to release a number of misdirect promos, of which only one revealed the true theme of the season. The theme has been since been revealed as a docudrama twist on the famous lost Roanoke colony.

Further details about Season 7 are being kept under wraps.

American Horror Story airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on FX
