Honda Unveils New Civic Type R Prototype
Following the unveiling of the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback in August, the car marker debuted the Type R prototype at the Paris Motor Show this week.
Based on the Civic Hatchback, the performance model is given a more aggressive look, with an overhauled body kit featuring brushed aluminum and carbon fiber, as well as a scooped hood and 20-inch black alloy wheels that feature red accents and wrapped in high-performance tires. Furthermore, Honda's iconic red "H" badge sits prominently on the front grille at the nose of the car, alongside smoked lenses for the LED headlights and indicators, and Type R badging.
Engine details were not divulged, but its rumored to carry a hopping 340 horsepower.
The 2017 Honda Civic Type R will make its North American debut at the 2016 SEMA Show in November -- the first time a Honda-badged Type R has made its way to the U.S.
