Gucci Mane to Publish His Memoir
While in prison, Gucci Mane wrote his memoir which he will be releasing soon, after inking a deal with publisher Simon & Schuster.
"Simon & Schuster is thrilled to publish Gucci’s story in his own words", a spokesperson told The FADER. "Gucci Mane is one of the most influential and revered hip-hop artists in the world. His impact on American music is profound. This will be a major memoir revealing the life and times of the artist and man, chronicling his youth, ascent to the top of the Atlanta trap scene, incarceration, struggles with addiction and personal rebirth."
Gucci Mane revealed the news last week, during an interview on Hot 97. "I just did a book deal with Simon & Schuster," he said. "That’ll be coming out at the top of next year. I did a whole autobiography. I wrote it while I was locked up."
Terms of the deal is unknown, nor is a release date.
In addition to his memoir, Gucci is prepping the release of his second album this year, titled Woptober, due out Oct. 17.
