Cyborg Justino TKOs Lina Lansberg at UFC Fight Night Brazil
Cris "Cyborg" Justino completely demolished newcomer Lina Lansberg at UFC Fight Night in Brazil on Saturday night (Sept. 24), winning via a second-round TKO.
From the opening bell, Cyborg came out aggressive, overpowering Lansberg on the fence and throwing rights and knees to the body in the clinch. She eventually took her down and reigned down bombs from full mount, but Lansberg weathered the storm to make it out of the first round.
Round 2 was all she wrote, though. Cyborg landed a devastating right that swelled Lansberg's left eye. Then, after a take down, a series of elbows and right hands from Cyborg prompted referee Mario Yamasaki to call the fight at 2:29.
It is the 15th knockout of Justino's career and her second win in the UFC.
Although Cyborg continues her dominance, the lack of a female featherweight weight class in the UFC makes her future in the Octagon unclear. She remains the 145-pound featherweight champion for all-female promotion Invicta FC.
For Saturday's fight, she struggled to make the 140-pound catchweight limit, but appears to be interested to continue in the UFC, if she gets the bigger fights. "I already have two belts at home," Justino said. "I want to put on super fights for my fans and make them happy."
Also during the evening, Roy Nelson knocked out Antonio Silva in the second round; and Renan Barão earned a unanimous decision over Phillipe Nover.
