Gucci Mane Talks Weight Loss, Joint Album With Drake

Fresh off house arrest, Gucci Mane headed to New York City this week, and made his media rounds in support of his upcoming Woptober album.

During a stop by Hot 97, he chopped it up with Funkmaster Flex, discussing his time with in prison, from how he lost weight to the people who supported him.

"I started running up and down the steps in jail. It was relieving stress," Guwop explained. "When I started, I couldn’t even run up and down one time... It got to where I used to do it 200 times up and down... I ended up losing 80 pounds and that was my goal."

As far as the incarceration itself, the rapper admits that he was getting outta control and needed to be locked up. "I needed to see it," Gucci explained. "It’s a big deterrent. It made me say, 'I don’t wanna come back here, ever. I’ll change my whole life not to come back here.' "

Elsewhere, Gucci discussed the much talked about joint project with Drake. "We mentioned that we was gonna do a mixtape together, but he’s on tour and I was on house arrest," he said. "I like working with Drake. I feel like he’s super dope and I’m the truth, so it’ll be a great thing to do, but at the same time, we’ve still gotta find time to do it... Eventually, it should come out, but if not, you damn sure got Woptober coming 10/17."
