Lance Stephenson Agrees to Deal With New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to a deal to sign veteran guard Lance Stephenson, reports ESPN.
Sources say Stephenson and the Pelicans have come to terms on a one-year deal.
The Pelicans needed to fill a void left by point guard Jrue Holiday, who will be out indefinitely at the start of the season to help his wife, as she prepares for surgery on a brain tumor.
Stephenson played for both the Clippers and Grizzlies last season, following a subpar 2014-15 season in Charlotte, who traded him to Los Angeles in the summer of 2015. Then, he was traded to Memphis in February, where he averaged 14.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 26.6 minutes per game.
