Prince Paul Forms BROOKZILL!, Drops Mixtape With Ladybug Mecca


Rap veterans Prince Paul and Ladybug Mecca (Digable Planets) team up with Gorila Urbano and The Dix's Don Newkirk to form the supergroup BROOKZILL!

The quartet collective are prepping their debut album, Throwback To The Future, due out Oct. 7, while gearing up for their first-ever live show at NYC's SOB's on Sept. 14.

However, before that, Paul was dropped the of three bandmate-inspired mixtapes, BROOKZILL! Mixtape #2 - Ladybug Mecca Mix, which you can exjoy below via SoundCloud.

Speaking of the project, Urbano describes upcoming the live show as a "spiritual hip hop ceremony and culture clash inna b-boy stance", much like the album itself.

"Throwback To The Future is the sonic link between New York and Brazil, Hip-Hop's future with its far-reaching past," a press release says.

The project will also feature collaborations with Del The Funky Homosapien and Count Bass D, turntablists Kid Koala, Mr. Len, and more.
