Nintendo Announces Return of Original NES
Need a dose of nostalgia? Nintendo has you covered, as it announces the upcoming re-release of the iconic NES.
Dubbed the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition, the console will return in this miniaturized, HDMI-equipped form, which the company calls "a mini replica", because it looks just like the original. It also comes with 30 pre-installed games.
"When you're on a roll, why not make crowd-pleasing decisions," said Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America President and COO.
"We wanted to give fans of all ages the opportunity to revisit Nintendo's original system and rediscover why they fell in love with Nintendo in the first place,” he added. "The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition is ideal for anyone who remembers playing the NES, or who wants to pass on those nostalgic memories to the next generation of gamers."
Pre-installed titles include classics like Super Mario Bros. 1, 2 and 3, The Legend Of Zelda, Punch Out, Final Fantasy, Donkey Kong, Bubble Bobble and more.
The mini NES will sell for just $60 USD when it drops Nov. 11, and a second controller can be purchased for $10 USD.
