Nightclub Bouncer Says Lil Wayne Punched Him, Files Report

Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne has been named a suspect in a nightclub assault, following Sunday's BET Awards.

According to TMZ, a bouncer working at Hyde nightclub on Sunset Blvd. on Sunday (June 26) claims he was punched by the rapper, during an argument with him and his entourage.

Wayne and 2 Chainz were hosting the BET Awards afterparty, but things got heated when the bouncer turned away members of Wayne's crew. From there, the rapper and the bouncer started arguing about who was getting in, and then, the bouncer says Wayne punched him in the face.

The unnamed bouncer went to a nearby hospital for treatment and filed a battery report with police, who are currently investigating and want to talk to Wayne.

Sources tell TMZ that Wayne's camp denies that he punched the bouncer, and says the guy actually worked in Wayne's VIP section all night. They admit there was a brief altercation, but only because the bouncer mistakenly grabbed Wayne by the arm ... not realizing who he was... and later apologized.

Wayne could face a misdemeanor battery charge.
