Minecraft Surpasses 100 Million Sales Milestone

Popular 8-bit game Minecraft has hit a milestone, after surpassing 100 million sales.

According to developer Mojang, the title has sold 106.85 million copies to date, since launching in 2011... and across all platforms.

"We'd like to offer our heartfelt thanks to every one of you who's bought Minecraft over the past few years, no matter which platform you play on. We're constantly in awe of our community and the amazing things you achieve together. You really are the best," the company said in a blog post.

2016 has been big for Minecraft, with an average of 53,000 copies selling per day. Coming behind Tetris, Minecraft is now the second best-selling video game in the world... and is currently available on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Android and Apple.
