Drake Replaces 50 Cent on “Forbes Five” List
There's a new mogul on the annual "Forbes Five: Hip-Hop's Wealthiest Artists" list... and his name is Drake.
For years, the list included Diddy, Dr. Dre, Birdman, Jay Z and 50 Cent, but due to Fif's bankruptcy filing, he has moved down the list... and been replaced by Drizzy.
According to Forbes, Sean "Diddy" Combs reigns supreme on the list with an estimated net worth of $750 million, thanks mostly to his stake in Diegeo's Ciroc vodka brand. However, he also holds stakes in the TV network Revolt, his Sean John clothing line and alkaline water Aquahydrate.
At #2 is Dr. Dre with $710 million, who fortune is credited mostly thanks to the sale of his Beats By Dre brand to Apple, but also includes an impressive portfolio of real estate in Southern California.
Jay Z lands at #3 with $610 million from a range of business endeavors, including his streaming music service, TIDAL. +
Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman is fourth on the list with $110 million, thanks to his major success in music with platinum-selling acts such as Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Drake.
Finally, Drake comes in fifth place with an estimated net worth of $60 million, thanks to music sales, touring and paychecks from Nike, Sprite and Apple.
