Robert Downey Jr. Inks Deal to Appear in “Spider-Man: Homecoming”

After appearing in the teaser footage during CinemaCon, Robert Downey Jr. has officially signed on for Spider-Man: Homecoming, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

The actor has struck a deal to join the cast of the Spider-Man reboot as Tony Stark, aka Iron Man.

As previously reported, teen actor Tom Holland will star as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, after making his debut as the character in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War.

Others cast in the film is Marisa Tomei, who will play Aunt May, while Zendaya will be one of the female leads.

Civil War releases May 6, while Homecoming is slated to hit theaters July 7, 2017.
